Shelby-Rising City Public Schools is located in east central Nebraska, 20 miles south of Columbus and 65 miles northwest of Lincoln.

The Shelby and Rising City School Districts consolidated prior to the 2011-2012 school year.  Currently the district has a PK-12 enrollment of approximately 400 students and competes in Class C2 for most NSAA Activities.

Beginning with the 2017-18 school year all students in the District will attend the campus in Shelby.  The District has completed new construction featuring an elementary wing, agriculture building, new public access to the library and fitness center, a competition gym, an 8-lane track/football field, and renovations to the original building.

The District has implemented a 1:1 Digital Device Initiative in grades K through 12.  High School and MIddle School students are using MacBook Air's.  Students in grades 3-5 use Chromebooks and students in grades K-2 use iPads.  Each classroom is equipped with interactive white boards and each teacher has a MacBook Air.

S-R-C was granted North Central to AdvancEd accreditation in January of 2016.  Our District utilizes the PBiS behavior model.

We are very proud of doing things the HUSKY WAY!
