DANIELLE LUETTEL

Mrs. Luettel will teach 2nd Grade this fall.  She has taught the last four years at Lost Creek Elementary in Columbus.  A 2015 Doane graduate she is endorsed in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education.  She recently (2018) completed her Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane as well.

"I graduated from David City High School in 2011.  I am married to Colton and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first child at the end of June.  We live in Gresham, NE and enjoy spending time outdoors with family and friends.  I'm looking forward to getting to know the S-RC staff and students, and getting to know the Shelby and Rising City communities as well."


JENNIFER TOPIL

Mrs. Topil will serve as a 3rd grade teacher this upcoming year. A 2006 graduate from Wayne State College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Endorsement. 

“I have taught for thirteen years at Pender Public Schools (2006) and East Butler Public Schools (2007-2019).  In 2010, I received my Master of Arts degree in Education focused in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Nebraska - Kearney. My husband, Craig, and I live in Rising City. We have 3 children, Bailey (5 years old), Brooklynn (1 year old), and Blake (born in May). I am looking forward to teaching 3rd grade, getting involved in the district, and meeting new people.”


CODY BOBOLZ

Mr. Bobolz will be the new Secondary (6-12) Principal this fall.  A graduate of Midland University (2008) who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Natural Science and the University of Nebraska at Kearney (2016) with a Masters Degree in Educational Administration. Mr. Bobolz comes from West Point-Beemer where he taught Junior High Science, High School Anatomy and Physiology.  He was the Head Boys Basketball Coach for 4 years, served as an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for 5 years, and was the Head Boys Golf Coach for 5 years.

"I am originally from Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and my wife, Jennifer, will also work in the District. We have lived in West Point for the last 9 years. We have 2 daughters; Kennedy (8) will be entering 3rd grade and Hadley (4) will be in pre-school. I am looking forward to building great relationships with students, staff, and parents as it is imperative we work together to continue to build great things at S-RC! Our family is so blessed to move into such a great community and we have already felt so welcomed.”

JENNIFER BOBOLZ

Mrs. Bobolz will serve as the District’s full-time substitute and elementary interventionist.  A 2009 graduate of Wayne State College has both a K-6 and Mild/Moderate Special Education endorsement.  She has worked for West Point-Beemer as a 2nd Grade Teacher the last nine years and served as the assistant volleyball coach for three.

“I am originally from West Point, NE and went to school through 2nd grade. My family then moved to Axtell, NE where I spent most of my childhood and graduated high school. Our family has been living in West Point for the last 9 years. My husband, Cody, is going to be the new 6-12 Principal at Shelby-Rising City. We have 2 daughters; Kennedy (8) will be entering 3rd grade and Hadley (4) will be in preschool.  I am most looking forward to meeting and working with new people. I am also looking forward to building lasting relationships with staff and students that will lead to greater student achievement.”


KILAH DEAVER

Ms. Deaver will be a 4th Grade Teacher this fall.  A 2017 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with an endorsement in Elementary Education has taught the previous two years as a 5th Grade Teacher for Elwood Public Schools.

“My family consists of my dad, stepmom, two older sisters, four nieces, one nephew, and another niece/nephew on the way! They light up my world. I am looking forward to joining the Husky family, meeting my students, and sharing with them my love for reading!

JIMMY BLEX

Mr. Blex will be the High School Social Studies Teacher, Head High School Track Coach, and Assistant High School Boys Basketball Coach this year.  A 2008 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences Education also holds a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State College.  Mr. Blex has taught the last nine years at Cambridge Public Schools and one year in Mohave Valley, Arizona.

"I met Lynn as we were both teachers in Cambridge. We were married in 2016, and we had our first child Cora who will be 1 in July. We are excited to move our family to the SRC School District and be parts of the communities.”  

LYNN BLEX

Mrs. Blex will be the advanced technology, STEM, and Tech Integration Specialist for the District.  She holds a degree in PK-12 Information Technology from Wayne State, a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State College, and a Bachelors of Science in Business/Cooperative Education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.  She has taught the last seven years at Cambridge Public Schools.

“I met my husband, Jimmy, after moving to Cambridge.  We got married in 2016 and had our daughter, Cora in 2018.  We are looking forward to moving to Shelby and being a part of the SRC school district.”


GARRIT SHANLE

Mr. Shanle will serve as a High School Science Teacher, Assistant High School Football Coach, and Assistant High School Track Coach this year.  He is a 2019 graduate of Morningside College with a Bachelors Degree in Science Education.  He student taught at Sioux City East Middle School.

Mr. Shanle was a letterman on the Morningside Football Team while earning two NAIA scholar-athlete awards and making the Dean’s list seven times.  He brings a background in chemistry, physics, and biology to the classroom.

A native of Columbus and a graduate of Scotus High School, he looks forward to working with the students in the classroom and on the field bringing his passion for setting goals and high expectations to excel in both areas.
