The Nebraska High School Press Association held its annual journalism camp at UNL July 15-17. Students from Scottsbluff to Omaha as well as from Kansas attended camp. Kera Denbo represented S-RC. While at camp, Kera attended the yearbook trak where she learned about yearbook trends and the "musts" when designing a layout. The day began at 8:30 am with a hot, muggy walk from Sandoz resident hall to Anderson Hall (the Journalism college) and ended at 8:30 pm. Kera concluded camp with a cover design for the 2019-20 yearbook, text fonts, 6 modules to use for spread layouts, and new friends. She and Mrs. Hofmann conversed about the image of this year's book and creating an appearance that will be nontraditional. Kera is excited to share these ideas with yearbook students in August.
