Recognition Picture

The April Husky Recognition Rally was held on Monday, May 3rd. We celebrated a number of student accomplishments over the last month, which included recognizing both the junior high and high school girls track teams for winning the CRC Track Meet. The Spring Play participants were congratulated on their performance. We also had 3 girls (Cheyanne Absher, Haley Hanak, Aubree Siffring) that did an outstanding job at the District Music Contest and were recognized for their efforts. Mr. Trofholz recognized our high school students who received Spring Academic All-State honors. We announced our April Students of the Month and had the monthly PBiS drawing.

We also celebrated our teachers in light of it being Teacher/Staff Appreciation week. Student council members presented each teacher with an award and the teachers also participated in a team activity where they had to untie themselves. We really appreciate everything that our staff and teachers do for our students… Thank You!

Let’s meet our April Students of the Month! Congratulations to each of these students on their outstanding work and leadership at SRC!

6th- Kaleigh Ruth

This student was nominated on the pillars of integrity and accountability. She is certainly one of the  leaders in the 6th grade class. She models appropriate classroom behavior and is not afraid to call classmates out when they are not meeting the expectations. She is very responsible about making sure she always puts forth her best effort on assignments and activities in class. She is not afraid to ask for help or clarification as needed on assignments because she truly wants to do her best.  She is polite and respectful to everyone, students and teachers alike.

7th- Dagan Moore

This student was nominated on the pillars of integrity and accountability. This student always has a positive and focused attitude during class. He always gives his best effort, even if it means pushing himself out of his comfort zone. He always makes the effort to talk to me about things he's interested in or something to lighten up the mood. He is funny, outgoing, smart, and is an outstanding student. I can always count on him to volunteer in class and to ask a question when he needs help. He sets a prime example for how to behave in the classroom as well. I am very thankful to have him in my class! He has shown great accountability this year. Any time he is gone or sick from school he emails and asks about what assignments he has missed. The growth from last year to this year is very evident. He is a great classmate and does a great job being a leader when it comes to lab activities. He is not afraid to get things started and will take charge when it comes to getting things completed.

8th- Bailey Turpitt

This student was nominated for service and accountability. She is a student who has progressively become a better student this year. She has taken more responsibility for her learning and schooling. She works hard in school as well as out of school to keep herself organized and on the right track. She will always do what is asked of her. She has certainly become an asset in the classroom and in activities. She has really changed her focus and attitude since the start of the school year, which has allowed her to be successful. We are really proud of everything she has overcome and certainly has demonstrated the Hard Hat mentality.

9th- Aiden Zimmerman

This student has demonstrated the pillars of integrity, accountability, and service. He is an awesome student to have in class!  He always participates, always completes his work and is prepared for class.  He is enthusiastic and always has a smile for classmates and teachers alike. I never have to remind him to get started on assignments or to use his class time wisely. He is a student that I can count on to work with fidelity, whether it is with his peers or a substitute teacher. He can be counted on to complete everything necessary to be successful in the classroom and he helps explain concepts to peers when needed. He is actively involved in many activities at SRC. He balances his schedule well and still volunteers to help when needed for school and community events. He even was the Easter Bunny for the Shelby Easter Egg Hunt!

10th- Aurora Slusarksi

She displays the pillars of service, accountability, integrity, and accountability on a consistent basis. She is very involved in her organizations and activities. She does not let living outside of town stop her from being very involved in activities, even when they are before or after school. She puts in the extra time while always keeping a positive attitude in the classroom. Her willingness to help out is much appreciated! She continues to strive to hand in quality work in my class. She will redo until she is satisfied that she has only turned in her best quality work. She also handles constructive criticism on her procedures and does her best to use that information to improve. She put in a lot of work on a recent project and it turned out beautifully. Additionally, she is a pleasant young woman to have in class and always seems to have a positive attitude, which is always appreciated.

11th- Grant Brigham

This student was nominated on the pillars of integrity and accountability. He comes to class every day and does what is asked of him. I enjoy his humor because he makes situations light and fun. He has been willing to help other students in ICU Advisory, and he never hesitates any time he is asked to help his peers with homework. He certainly takes pride in learning and wants to help others succeed, which is a sign of a great leader. He is a great young man whose leadership is growing each day, and we know his future is very bright. As a junior, I see him being a role model for younger students and showing them what it means to be a Husky!

12th- Allie Neujahr

This student was nominated for integrity and accountability. She gets the job done in the classroom as well as on the court or playing field. She holds herself to a high standard and continues to excel during her senior year. She can accomplish goals and pushes others to think in a different way. She holds others accountable and will continue to be successful in her future career. Overall, she has done a fantastic job in the classroom this year. She is a "go getter" and is a quiet leader in the classroom. I never have to worry about her getting an assignment done on time, and she makes sure she is prepared for class. She also gives her honest opinion in any situation and I admire her for that because it isn't always easy to go against other's opinions. We know she is going to do great things in the future and she has been a great SRC Husky!
