Omaha Play

Elementary students in kindergarten through fifth grades attended the play "Dragons Love Tacos" on May 1st in Omaha.  The performance was based on a humorous children's book.  The trip was our end of the year reward for our Book-It At-Home Reading Incentive Program.  Students ate sack lunches and played at a park after attending the play.  The chilly weather didn't stop the students from having lots of fun with their friends.

We're very grateful to the many people made this special trip possible.  The SRC Booster Club generously covered the expense of our tickets. Our dedicated SRC bus drivers Steve Stewart, John Rasmussan, Darrol Gray, and Jim Hendrickson maneuvered us through all the road construction and detours.  Our head cook, Patty Kelly, and her staff prepared our breakfast on the go bags.  Superintendent,  Mr. Kay and Elementary Principal, Mrs. Glock,  provided lots of guidance and support to adjust our bus schedules and make this trip possible in spite of the travel challenges of damaged roads.  All of our teachers and paraprofessionals were, as always, patient and flexible.  A big thank you goes out to all of our SRC families and parents who provided support for their children as they worked hard to reach their reading goals in Book-It this year!
