The Nebraska Association of Teachers of Science (NATS) has elected Mrs. Carrie Bauers to serve as the Central Region Member at Large on the Board of Directors from the 25-28 term!

Carrie’s experience, leadership in the classroom, and dedication to science education made her an outstanding candidate for the NATS board. Her willingness to serve will strengthen NATS’s ability to support science teachers across Nebraska and help shape professional growth opportunities for their members.

✨🎶2025 ALL STATE CHORUS🎶✨ The Shelby-Rising City Music Department is proud to announce that Kasey Fischbach and Nevaeh Martinez have been selected to represent our school in the 2025 Nebraska Music Education Association All-State Chorus! Being selected as a member of this ensemble is among the highest musical honors a student can achieve in the state. This honor recognizes their incredible talent, hard work, and dedication as musicians. The All State Chorus will be under the direction of Dr. Pearl Shangkuan, a highly sought-after conductor, lecturer and clinician who has led performances and workshops on six continents. Rehearsals will take place from Thursday, November 20 through Saturday, November 22 in Lincoln. The event will culminate in a public concert at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 22 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, UNL campus. Congratulations to the both of you! We are incredibly proud of your achievement!✨

Congrats to undergraduate student of UNK Bio Department & alum Laura Velasco for presenting her research at the Midland Society for Physiological Sciences (MSPS) Conference over the weekend.

Laura was also awarded 2nd place in the undergraduate poster category!

Yesterday, our FBLA students took some time to give back to the community by picking up trash along the highway as part of the Adopt-a-Highway program! We’re proud of their commitment to keeping our area clean and representing Husky pride through service! 🌎 🐾

Husky volleyball takes down High Plains in their first game of the CRC tournament. They advance to the semi finals on Monday at 6:45 against the winner of BDS and NE Lutheran. 🐾Good luck Huskies!🐾

Due to our playoff game on Thursday (10/23) being played at 4pm, we will be having an EARLY OUT for school. Elementary at 1:15pm Seconday at 1:25pm There will be NO AFTERNOON PRESCHOOL. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility! #rollskies
