Shelby-Rising City Public Schools

Shelby-Rising City musicians are gearing up for their District Music Contest with a Pre-Contest Concert tomorrow at 6:00PM! The concert will consist of all the large ensembles, vocal and instrumental soloists and a small ensemble. 🎶

Come see our middle school and high school students in the Spring Play on Saturday at 7pm or Sunday at 2pm. "Dr. Experimentor and the League of Evil" is sure to make you laugh and is appropriate for all ages. A free will donation opportunity will be available at the door. We hope to see your face in the audience!

Today, our high school choir had the opportunity to welcome Dr. Raoul Carlo (Miggi) F. Angangco, Director of Choral Activities at Hastings College, into our classroom! He shared so many wonderful insights about our music as well as great ideas to help us elevate our performance for contest on Friday. Thank you, Dr. Angangco and Hastings College Music for helping all our students learn and grow! 🎶

Congratulations to our own Jett Vrbka for being PCN Athlete of the Week!

He helped the boys earn a 4th place finish by winning the LJ, placing 3rd in TJ, & 6th in the 200. All were PRs for him!

Yesterday he won LJ, TJ, & 3rd in the 200.

🚨 School Record Broken 🚨 Danica Watts broke the Shelby-Rising City Triple Jump school record today with a jump of 35'2.5". The jump broke her own previous record of 35'1". Congratulations, Danica!

Here are today's results from the high school track meet in Centennial! Extremely proud of all our athletes' effort today! Ton of PRs today and was awesome seeing them compete well and support each other throughout the day.

What an incredible few days at the Nebraska FBLA State Leadership Conference! Our SRC chapter had 22 members competing, learning, and networking alongside more than 2,300 students from across Nebraska (a new conference attendance record!).

Beyond competing in their events, our students dove into workshops covering leadership, career skills, financial literacy, and real-world topics that will stick with them long after high school. They also heard an inspiring message from keynote speaker - “Timmy the Dreamer” - about chasing dreams and finding ways to truly "make your mark."

Our Husky family would be proud of how our students carried themselves—supporting each other, stepping outside their comfort zones, and representing SRC with class.

And…we have NATIONAL QUALIFIERS! 🎉

Help us congratulate all of our competitors and wish our qualifiers the best as they prepare for nationals this summer. The future is bright for these leaders! 💙

Today the SRC Middle School Speech Team was almost competing at full strength at the Wayne Invite! We took 20 students in 14 events and ended up 4th in Team Sweepstakes!!! What a great day!!! Duet Acting 4th place -- Izzie Osantowski and Jora Korthals Humorous Prose 2nd place -- Payton Reznicek 5th place -- Trinity Morris 6th place -- Bella Giddings Serious Prose 4th place -- Brooklyn Rasmussen Mixed Events 6th place -- Piper Glatter (Poetry) OID 6th place -- Bella Giddings, Ruby Sanley, Bailey Topil, Avery VanWinkle We also had several events that just missed top 6! Mr. Nissen and I are very proud of everyone today!!! Next Saturday we will travel to Twin River to wrap up our season. We also couldn't compete without our amazing high school judges! Thank you to Charlotte Slusarski and Kenny Pearson for spending their Saturday helping out with Middle School Speech!!!
