🚨 🚫 NO SCHOOL ALERT🚫🚨 Due to snow accumulation, drifting of snow, freezing over night, and lack of power that affected us throughout the entire day; SRC will have NO SCHOOL for Thursday, March 20th. I want to make sure that our building is back in operational form with proper heat, our buses are able to leave the bus barn, and that all staff/students are able to make it safely to school. Coaches/Sponsors will be in contact with our spring activities because if roads and our building is good to go by 3:45pm, we will have normal volunteer practice times. We would like to thank Pinnacle Bank & Edgewater Insurance for the opportunity to participate in the 3 point and pin challenge! For the 2024/25 season, Pinnacle Bank and Edgewater Insurance came together to introduce the 3-Point Program & Pin Challenge. For every 3-pointer, they donated $3; for every pin, they donated $6 to the SRC High School. This year’s grand total was $1707 and will go back to our programs!

❄️ 🚫 No School Tomorrow🚫❄️ Due to predicted blizzard conditions, Shelby-Rising City Public Schools will have NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Wednesday (3/19). The NWS is predicting dangerous or impossible driving conditions so please stay off the roads if possible.

💥 REMINDER! 💥 All 6-12 students are welcome to participate in tomorrow night's FBLA dodgeball tournament to raise money for the March of Dimes. Entry fee is $5 per participant. It will be a round robin style tournament with separate MS and HS brackets. All participants MUST have a signed waiver form in order to participate. Contact Sara Jensen (sjensen@shelby.esu7.org) if you still need a form. The first game will begin at 6:00 PM in the west gym. Hope to see you there!!

Here are your C2-2 District Speech results!! In OID finals, "Itty Bitty" (Urijah Grant, Ashlyn Long, Garrett Ruth, Charlotte Slusarski, & Logan Slusarski) just missed out on State with a 4th place finish, and "Blazing Saddles" (Kasey Fischbach, Mackenzie Kuns, Hayden Reznicek, Charlie Thompson, & Kreyten Zimmerman) were the state-qualifying C2-2 district runner-ups! In duet acting, Garrett Ruth & Kreyten Zimmerman placed 5th, and Mackenzie Kuns & Charlie Thompson placed 4th. In extemporaneous, Hayden Reznicek placed 4th, and Clare Willis qualified for State with a 3rd place finish! In poetry, Deagen Cynova placed 7th and Nevaeh Martinez qualified for State with a 3rd place finish! In serious prose, Charlotte Slusarski placed 4th. In POI, Nevaeh Martinez placed 6th and Clare Willis placed 5th. In entertainment, Kreyten Zimmerman placed 6th and Mackenzie Kuns qualified for State with a 3rd place finish! In humorous prose, Hayden Reznicek placed 6th. In informative, Emma Svoboda is a State qualifier and district runner-up! In persuasive, Emma Svoboda is a State qualifier with a 3rd place finish! In team sweepstakes, Shelby-Rising City is your C2-2 District Runner-up!!

CPR WEEK! Thank you Nurse Denise for taking the time to teach our middle school students CPR!

Here is a tremendous opportunity for our students, staff, & communities! Voices of Resilience is a free-will donation event that features many top speakers to focus on mental health awareness. This event will feature meaningful conversations about the challenges of competition, overcoming obstacles, and prioritizing emotional well-being. This is open to all ages! This will be on April 12th in York, NE at York High School Theater.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to participate in the Wayne State Middle School Music Festival at Wayne State College. Our students showcased their talents and earned well-deserved recognition. Congratulations, Huskies! 🎶
